In 1949, one brother left Bella for Buenos Aires. Another followed six months later on the Conte Biancamano. Argentina was welcoming workers from Italy; for this family, the new country began with the two brothers.
The younger two waited until 1955. Their sister was twenty-four, their youngest brother fourteen, when they reached Buenos Aires together on the Conte Grande. The boy now had two older brothers in the city.
Bella remained part of their lives. Their eldest brother stayed in Italy, while the others made their homes in Argentina. The family had new addresses, and more than one place to call home.
